Paul Ryan promises GOP solution to Obamacare, declines to give specifics

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) appeared on Fox News Sunday, promising repeatedly that Republicans have a solution that will that will give people “freedom from Obamacare” should the Supreme Court rule against the Affordable Care Act’s federal subsidies this summer.

Ryan kept saying that the GOP had a plan, but declined to give specifics, something host Chris Wallace did not take kindly to.

“Well, we will have a solution that addresses this law,” Ryan said. “We’ll have a solution for the people caught in this law, so that they’re not caught in the lurch.”

After being pressed by Wallace for more information, Ryan finally said he wanted to wait until the Court officially ruled before he said anything and for the GOP to “customize its plan.”

There has been a lot of speculation regarding the Supreme Court case and its impact on Republicans should the Court rule against the Obama administration. Ryan is one of several congressmen who has released a loose framework of a plan for an “off-ramp from Obamacare,” but there has been no consensus from Republicans in Congress.
