A Tennessee man ended up in the joint for smoking a joint while in court.
Spencer Boston, 20, was in Wilson County court this week after being charged with simple marijuana possession. Not to be deterred by the first charge, Boston began to argue in favor of legalizing the drug.
Boston was blunt in his argument and, instead of simply expressing his opinion using words, decided to pull a marijuana cigarette from his pocket, light it, and begin puffing on it while facing Judge Haywood Barry.
The man was able to get in several short inhales before security realized what he was doing and led him from the courtroom to laughter from those in the crowd.
“The people deserve better!” Boston shouted as he was removed from the gallery. Boston was charged with disorderly conduct and another marijuana possession charge. He was also held in contempt of court for the stunt.
“One of the craziest things I’ve seen,” Wilson County Sheriff Robert Ryan told WTVF.
