Curt Pride, the former professional baseball player and current Gallaudet University baseball coach, has been appointed to the 2010 President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.
Deaf since birth, Pride will work alongside the likes of NFL quarterback Drew Brees and basketball star Grant Hill to advise the president on developing physical activity, fitness, sports and nutrition programs for all Americans.
Pride said he was honored to serve on the council and excited about supporting first lady Michelle Obama’s fight against childhood obesity.
