For those keeping score at home, an update on the presidential head cold:

Long hours, little sleep and the germ-laden environments of successive international filing centers are taking their toll on the traveling White House press corps, several of whom are rocking the sniffles.

Few have it as bad, however, as President Obama. He’s been sick the entire trip, with red eyes, congestion and intermittent flushing and sweating.

It’s not exactly how anyone would wish to make his debut as an international leader. But the president seemed to be keeping his humor about it.

“I’ve had it all week, you can hear it,” Obama said in Turkey. “In London, it sounded like I had acorns up my nose.”

Thanks for that haunting visual.
