Politico confirmed the decision Wednesday. If confirmed, Ricketts would be deputy to Wilbur Ross, who sources said Wednesday is Trump’s likely pick to head the Commerce Department.
Ricketts comes from a high-profile conservative family. His brother is Gov. Pete Ricketts and his father is TD Ameritrade founder Joe Ricketts.
If nominated and confirmed, it would cap a notable autumn for Ricketts, following the Cubs’ historic Game 7 World Series victory over the Cleveland Indians.
