The man detained in a security scare near the Pentagon last week has been charged in the series of sniper hootings at military installations in 2010.

Yonathan Melaku, a 22-year-old Marine reservist from Alexandria, was detained Friday when he was found in Arlington National Cemetery early Friday morning. His car was located near the Pentatgon, and the FBI said authorities found suspicious materials in the vehicle.

A press conference has been scheduled Thursday morning to announced the charges.

A series of overnight shootings at area military buildings began in October, including at the Pentagon, the National Museum of the Marine Corps, the Marine Corps recruiting station in Chantilly and at a Woodbridge Coast Guard recruiting center.
