KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kansas City’s Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art has loaned several of its Chinese landscape paintings to China’s Shanghai Museum for an exhibition that’s been drawing huge crowds.
The Nelson-Atkins says the exhibit — called Masterpieces of Early Chinese Painting and Calligraphy in American Collections — brings together about 60 ancient Chinese works held in U.S. museums. The exhibit has been drawing daily crowds of more than 8,000 visitors since it opened this month in Shanghai.
