The second-highest ranking GOP senator admits that President Trump has caused some self-inflicted wounds with his tweets, but gave Trump high marks on foreign policy.
“Unfortunately the president has, I think, created problems for himself by his Twitter habit,” said Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, on local WFAA-TV.
Cornyn did say that Trump deserves a “B+” on foreign policy and national security since he took office.
“He enforced the red line on Syrian chemical weapons. He enlisted China to help with North Korea,” Cornyn said.
Cornyn also criticized Democrats for “slow heel dragging” on State and Defense Department posts.
