A memorial motorcycle ride will be held to help raise money for the family of the Prince George’s County police officer who was killed in the line of duty last month.
Sgt. Richard Findley died June 27 after he was hit and dragged by a pickup truck that was reported stolen. The man charged with his death was later found dead in his jail cell.
Findley, 39, was a 10-year veteran of the police force and a Beltsville volunteer firefighter for 20 years.
The Sgt. Richard Findley Memorial Ride is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 23 at the Old Glory Harley-Davidson, at 11800 Laurel Bowie Road in Laurel. The police-escorted ride costs $25 for each rider and $15 per passenger. All proceeds will be given to Findley’s wife and children.
