The top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee wants former national security adviser Mike Flynn to come before Congress to testify on his contacts with Russian officials.
Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., said that Flynn hasn’t been called to testify yet during an investigation into Russian interference with the 2016 election. Flynn resigned from the White House after misleading Vice President Pence about contacting Russians during the election.
“We are starting to prepare lists of individuals that are starting to testify,” Warner said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday. “I want to hear from Gen. Flynn.”
Warner, ranking member of the panel, didn’t go after the FBI as did his House counterpart Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., who accused the FBI of stonewalling him.
Warner’s comments come a day after President Trump accused former President Barack Obama of wiretapping Trump Tower during the 2016 election. Obama has denied any role in any wiretapping.
