President Trump claimed early Friday that “everyone” at the G-20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, “is talking about” how the Democratic Party responded to the email hacking related to the 2016 presidential election.
“Everyone here is talking about why John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA. Disgraceful!” Trump tweeted.

Trump appeared to confuse the hacking of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman’s email with the breach at the Democratic National Committee. The U.S. intelligence community believes the hackers in both instances had connections to Russia.
After the hack, the DNC did not allow the FBI to have access to its servers, but Podesta would not have had authority over the party’s servers.
Trump’s tweet came hours before he is scheduled to sit down with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the first time.
Putin has denied Russia meddled in the election.
