Celebrating what would have been Dr. Seuss’ 106th birthday Tuesday, Michelle Obama read “The Cat and the Hat” to local schoolchildren as part of the National Education Association’s “Read Across America Day” at the Library of Congress.
The kids, dressed in red and white stovepipe Seuss-like hats, were joined by the Cat and the Hat himself. Besides the Cat, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Thing 1 and Thing 2 were on hand.
