First lady Melania Trump greeted French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, ahead of her first White House state dinner Tuesday wearing Chanel haute couture, an homage to the creative talents of her guests’ home country.
Trump’s shimmery full-length gown was hand painted with silver, embroidered with crystals and sequins, and finished with black Chantilly lace, according to Stephanie Grisham, the first lady’s communications director.
