One of the top tickets in Denver was the Poker Players Alliance’s fundraiser for paralyzed veterans. Joining Ben Affleck, Seth Myers, Sarah Silverman, Montel Williams and poker pros at the Coors Field event were hordes of media. But not so in Minneapolis. Wednesday night’s event was closed to the press.
So was it because they were overwhelmed with reporters in Denver? Or because Colorado gaming laws brought the event such scrutiny in the Mile High City? Or because so few celebs of Affleck’s caliber came to the Republican convention? Tough to say, because a spokeswoman didn’t respond to our request for comment about it.
