‘Broke and desperate’: Tucker Carlson accuses OnlyFans ‘pimps’ of ‘feasting off of our collapsing economy’

Fox News host Tucker Carlson ripped into two online pornography websites he said are exploiting women who have lost employment during the coronavirus pandemic.

In a segment on his Thursday evening show titled “Broke and desperate,” Carlson accused OnlyFans and IsMyGirl, two websites that help women upload and monetize homemade pornography, of acting like “pimps.”

“OnlyFans and IsMyGirl are porn websites. Both of them allow women to sell explicit photos and videos of themselves to men online. Both sites have seen explosive growth during the coronavirus shutdown. OnlyFans reports that seven or eight thousand new women sign up every day. IsMyGirl says submissions have surged by 30%. Now, there’s no question as to why this is happening. Those sites are feasting off of our collapsing economy.”

Carlson pointed to IsMyGirl targeting unemployed women with a “coronavirus relief package.”

“This is unimaginably ugly,” Carlson said. “It is the purest, most degrading form of economic exploitation. When you have nothing left to sell, you sell your body. The people who broker that sale are called pimps. Healthy societies do not celebrate pimps. They put pimps in prison. And yet, our pimps receive fawning profiles in daily newspapers. Our media greet this human tragedy like it’s progress. It’s the new frontier in the gig economy.”

Carlson accused BuzzFeed, the New York Times, and other media outlets of encouraging women to adopt the platform while writing pieces questioning the future of the porn industry as laid-off workers desperate for income turn to online sites.

OnlyFans and IsMyGirl have both recorded a surge of engagement since the coronavirus pandemic began.
