Sacramento’s Reggie Theus is the sixth NBA coach to be fired before Christmas this season. He joins Philadelphia’s Maurice Cheeks, Minnesota’s Randy Wittman, Toronto’s Sam Mitchell, Washington’s Eddie Jordan and Oklahoma City’s P.J. Carlesimo.

But who’s next?

The candidates with the best odds are the Grizzlies Marc Iavaroni (2-1), the Clippers’ Mike Dunleavy (5-1) and the Pacers’ Jim O’Brien (10-1), according to BetUs.com. The company also set the over-under for coaches to be fired before the end of the season at six, but with Theus’ firing, six have been canned before Christmas.

As for the players, BetUs.com has LeBron James (1-2) as the favorite to win the MVP, followed by Kobe Bryant (4-1), Chris Paul (4-1), Dwyane Wade (6-1) and Dwight Howard (8-1). The Wizards’ Caron Butler is listed at 50-1 odds.

But can he take Washington to a title?

BetUs.com says don’t bet it on it, as the Wizards have 100-1 odds to bring an NBA crown to the nation’s capital.

The most likely team to win it all? The defending champion Boston Celtics at 7-2 odds.
