The FBI is at President Joe Biden‘s Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, home searching for classified documents, after documents were found at his other Delaware property late last year.
The search was planned and in cooperation with Biden’s team, according to the president’s lawyers.
BIDEN DIDN’T DISCLOSE FBI SEARCH BECAUSE HE WAS FOCUSED ON ‘THINGS THAT MATTER,’ WHITE HOUSE SAYS
“Today, with the President’s full support and cooperation, the DOJ is conducting a planned search of his home in Rehoboth, Delaware. Under DOJ’s standard procedures, in the interests of operational security and integrity, it sought to do this work without advance public notice, and we agreed to cooperate. The search today is a further step in a thorough and timely DOJ process we will continue to fully support and facilitate. We will have further information at the conclusion of today’s search,” Bob Bauer, Biden’s personal attorney, said in a statement.

The president has owned his Rehoboth Beach home since summer 2017, shortly after leaving his position as vice president. He has made several visits to the house during his two years as president, most recently from Jan. 20-23.
Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware, property was searched on Jan. 20. On Tuesday, the White House confirmed that the FBI had searched the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., for classified documents in the middle of November last year. The November search had not been disclosed until reports surfaced Tuesday.
The investigation into Biden’s alleged mishandling of classified documents is being handled by special counsel Robert Hur, who was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland last month.
Hur took over the investigation into Biden’s documents this week after the FBI and DOJ have been looking into the matter for months.

Investigators have spoken with a former Biden aide who oversaw the boxes that were packed and delivered to the president’s office at the think tank. However, it isn’t clear whether the DOJ plans to interview Biden about the documents.
The FBI Agent’s Association told the Washington Examiner it does not comment on active investigations. The FBI declined to comment on the search.
