Baltimore man pleads guilty to 2005 murder

A Baltimore man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Baltimore city court to the 2005 murder of a woman whose body was found in a safe.

Owald Voigt, 49, was sentenced to 30 years in prison as part of his plea agreement in the murder of Robin Hoey, who was choked to death with an extension cord, according to court testimony.

Hoey was found Aug. 9 in a safe in a security store in the 3100 block of Lorena Avenue after the business owner told police he saw blood in the store, according to court records.

A police officer also noticed a foul smell coming from the store when he got there, according to court records. He traced a pool of blood to the safe and had the owner open it. Hoey?s body was inside, wrapped in a plastic bag, according to court testimony.

Hoey was last seen around Aug. 5, the day the business owner said Voigt was scheduled to do work in the store, according to court documents.
