An alleged drug dealer learned the folly of calling police to his Westminster home and then admitting that he sold bongs over the Internet.
Westminster police scored a major drug bust at Justin James Laurence Orenge?s home, recovering 500 pipes and bongs, 350 marijuana grinders, 350 scales, numerous bags of wire screens for pipes, 30 drug storage containers, one pound of marijuana, more than 3,000 Valium pills and hundreds of other pills, some believed to be Ecstasy, police said Thursday.
The value of all the contraband was estimated at more than $100,000.
When Orenge called the police to his house at 731 Mulligan Lane for a reported burglary Saturday, he told Pfc. Angela Anderson that he operated a Web site where he sold paraphernalia, police said.
Police then conducted a search warrant Monday, charging Orenge with distribution of marijuana, paraphernalia and Valium, and possession of Ecstasy, marijuana, Valium, paraphernalia and advertising paraphernalia.
The last time Westminster police had such a large bust for paraphernalia was last year, when investigators shut down a store at Main and Bond streets for selling smoking devices.
Westminster police Maj. Ronald Stevens said he didn?t know what Orenge had reported stolen from his house. Orenge is being held on a $125,000 bond in the Carroll County Detention Center in Westminster.
