Trump, Baldwin trade jabs after latest ‘SNL’ skit

President-elect Trump wasted little time to denounce the latest “Saturday Night Live” cold opening, which featured the return of Alec Baldwin portraying Trump during a national security briefing retweeting random people across the United States.

“Just tried watching Saturday Night Live – unwatchable! Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can’t get any worse. Sad,” Trump tweeted early Sunday morning.

The tweet elicited a near-immediate response from Baldwin, who tweeted back, “Release your tax returns and I’ll stop.”

Periodically over several months, Trump has expressed his disapproval of Baldwin’s mainly unflattering portrayal of him, dating back to when he was a candidate for president. He has also has accused “SNL of being example of the media “rigging” the election against him.

“Watched Saturday Night Live hit job on me.Time to retire the boring and unfunny show. Alec Baldwin portrayal stinks. Media rigging election!” Trump tweeted in October.

Despite his criticism of the show’s recent political endeavors, Trump has been an “SNL” guest host multiple times over the years, including an appearance in November of 2015.
