Trump visits Melania in hospital for second consecutive day

President Trump on Tuesday visited Melania Trump at Walter Reed Medical Center for the second day in a row as the first lady recovers from kidney surgery.

The president departed the White House shortly after 4 p.m. on Marine One before returning about 6 p.m., according to White House pool reports.

“This evening the President visited the First Lady at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. As her office has stated, the First Lady remains in good spirits,” White House deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters said Tuesday.

President Trump also touted the first lady’s speedy recovery on Twitter Tuesday, sharing that his wife is “doing really well” and would be leaving the hospital within two to three days.

Melania Trump’s surgery Monday morning was for a “benign kidney condition.” The White House said the procedure was successful and did not result in any complications.

“The First Lady looks forward to a full recovery so she can continue her work on behalf of children everywhere,” Stephanie Grisham, Melania Trump’s communications director, said in a statement Monday.
