“Lil Pope” won “top prize” at the White House’s Halloween celebration on Friday.
President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama were handing out candy to costumed kids in the South Portico when a baby dressed up as the Holy Father rolled up in a stroller disguised as a Pope mobile.
The Obamas were all smiles. “Top prize,” the president said, following with a thumbs up.
The official White House Twitter account later confirmed that “Lil Pope” had won top prize.
Children from local schools and military families were invited to the “trick-or-treat” affair at the White House, which was sporting an “Enchanted Forest” theme. The White House said it was expecting over 4,200 people at the event. Candy, cookies, fruit bars kettle corn were handed out to the kids, along with baseball cards of Bo and Sunny, the Obama’s two Portuguese Water dogs.
