This week’s Mainstream Media Scream features the View’s Joy Behar suggesting that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s push to ban Muslims from entering the country makes him the “recruiter in chief” for ISIS.
Behar on ABC’s The View, on Tuesday, June 14, reacting to the terrorist attack in Orlando:
“The thing about Trump though, is that he’s the recruiter in chief. He is basically working with ISIS to kill us. They are working together. Just remember what I’m saying….Because every time you go after the Muslims and you talk about how they shouldn’t come into the country and how they’re all a bunch of whatevers, you are saying to ISIS, make another video to show people who are sympathetic to your cause, and don’t think they haven’t made many videos showing Donald Trump. He is a dangerous menace to the country….
“Do you think that because he is the recruiter in chief and by his words he’s getting more people to go on the side of ISIS, that he could be considered treasonous? I mean, that is against the Constitution, that is against America. That’s a treasonist act in my opinion.”
Media Research Center Vice President of Research Brent Baker explains the pick: “No better way to say it: She’s gone nuts. Radical Islamists have been waging a terror war on the West for decades, yet she blames Trump for things he’s been saying over the past year. If anything, her hateful and anti-free speech accusations, turning views with which she disagrees into a capital crime, makes her more of a ‘dangerous menace to the country.'”
Rating: Five out of five screams.
