Cher the hate: legendary diva lays into “T-bag” Congress in Twitter rant

It’s a cross between an all-caps Kanye Twitter diatribe, standard liberal parlance about the Tea Party, and the Left’s meltdown du jour: hysterical loathing of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

It’s Cher.

The iconic entertainer, owner of a topically colorful, grammar-optional Twitter feed, blasted Congress for a government shutdown as it became apparent lawmakers would not be able to negotiate a solution in time.

In Congress’ defense, posteriors typically are not items found on maps — printed or electronic.

Cher continued, lewdly chiding official Washington for its lack of “stiff resolve” and focusing her specific attacks on a familiar target with the use of a familiar label.

A rant this strong only could be interrupted by appetite.

She carried on Tuesday morning, ripping lawmakers for “greed, avarice, self-aggrandizement and contempt for the vulnerable.”

The shutdown still was in effect early Tuesday afternoon, with the House and Senate at odds over a path forward — the House preferring a ‘conference committee’ with representatives of the Senate to smooth over differences between the two chambers, and Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) insistent that the House take up and pass the ‘clean’ Senate-passed funding bill above all else.
