Stephen Colbert spent some time Tuesday night making fun of all the media outrage over Obama’s controversial gum-chewing in China.
After Obama was spotted appearing to chew gum while meeting leaders in China, the Chinese internet lost their minds over how rude it was.
Colbert noted that chewing Nicorette gum, of all gums, was particularly outrageous: “You’re in Beijing, the one place on earth where inhaling burnt tar is the healthier choice!”
“It is no wonder that Obama was characterized by Chinese internet users as an impolite ‘idler’ and careless ‘rapper.’ Oh, we all know how much the hip-hop rapsmen love representin’ the G-U-M,” Colbert commented, followed by an elaborate gum-pouring-out ritual for “Two-Pack” and “Wrigley Smalls.”
Colbert also pulled out his Bo Dietl impersonation, involving “abba dabba doo hats” and ranting about veterans: “They’re the heroes, and what have we done with our lives? Spent them on TV screaming incoherently?”
