Howard police are investigating an incident in which a stray bullet shot by hunters went through the front window of a child care center in Clarksville.

Employees at Kids Time Out on Clarksville Square Drive heard gunshots and glass shattering around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Officers found a shattered window and projectile. Police searched the area behind the center and learned that two hunters shot a deer several hundred yards away, but a bullet struck the window.

The hunters were using shotguns and were more than the required 150 yards from an occupied dwelling. No one was injured.
