Sen. Dianne Feinstein criticized President Trump’s Sunday Morning tweet parodying Hillary Clinton being struck by a golf ball as “appalling and disgusting.”
Feinstein, D-Calif., who is the ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Trump should “grow up” and do his job rather than “obsessively lash out” at Clinton.
Trump on Sunday retweeted a parody GIF of him swinging a golf ball and hitting Clinton on the head with it. The tweet was initially posted on a “CNN SUCKS” account and the accompanying tweet was “Donald Trump’s amazing golf swing.”
Clinton has been criticizing Trump repeatedly on her book tour.
Feinstein did not mention Clinton’s criticism of Trump in her statement.
“He continues to obsessively lash out at her — at his rallies, with his words and now through social media — in a manner that is utterly unbecoming of the president of the United States,” Feinstein said in the statement. “Every one of us should be offended by the vindictive and candidly dangerous messages the president sends that demean not only Secretary Clinton, but all women. Grow up and do your job.”
