THE DAILY OUTRAGE: How about a talk on thrift?

Who: Department of Education

What: Provided $6,500 in “Title 1 No Child Left Behind” funds to pay for a speaker to talk about “professional learning communities” at Edgewater Elementary School in California.

Why it’s an outrage: Not only did the school have to pay for the speaker, but it also had to pay all the teachers to attend. Meanwhile, the school district, Marysville Joint Unified, faces a $5 million budget deficit.

Where to vent: Call the Department of Education inspector general at 1-800-MIS-USED.
