The operating statuses of some local government offices, transportation services and schools in the D.C. area:
Arlington: Arlington County government offices, schools and courts are all closed.
The District: D.C. government and D.C. Public Schools are closed.
Fairfax County: Fairfax County government offices are open, but employees can take unscheduled leave. Public Schools in the county are closed. Recycling and trash are cancelled.
Federal offices: Federal offices are closed. Emergency and telework-ready employees required to work have to follow their agency’s policies.
Loudoun County: Loudoun County government is closed, but essential employees have to work as scheduled. Public schools in the county are closed.
MARC: Service on the Brunswick Line is suspended, and Camden Line Service is operating on a limited schedule.
Metro: Metrorail service is operating on a normal weekday schedule. Some bus lines are suspended or are providing limited service, and MetroAccess service is cancelled
Montgomery County: Montgomery County government is closed to day, though essential personnel have to work. Montgomery County Public Schools are closed.
Prince George’s County: Prince George’s County Government is open, but there is a liberal leave option for non-essential employees. Courts and public schools are closed.
Prince William County: Prince William County government, courts and senior centers are closed. Public schools are also closed, and the School Age Care program will not be open.
Universities: American, Catholic, Georgetown, George Washington and Howard Universities are closed, as are the University of the District of Columbia and the University of Maryland.
Virginia Railway Express: No VRE service today, but full service is expected tomorrow.
