Chinese stock market shuts down after drastic drop

Chinese stock trading was temporarily halted Thursday morning after stocks plummeted shortly after opening.

Shanghai shares dropped more than 7 percent, causing China to suspend trading for the rest of the day.

The trouble in Asian markets may be felt on Wall Street Thursday morning, which also hit a three-month low before closing Wednesday.

Other international issues, like North Korea’s hydrogen bomb test and Iran’s second missile test, may impact the trading climate.
