Examining Politics: The status of the border wall

Immigration reporter Anna Giaritelli recently visited the U.S./Mexico border to see the current situation. In South Texas she met with Carla Provost, the first woman to lead U.S Border Patrol. Provost told the Washington Examiner that she’s personally seen a border wall work as a deterrent to illegal immigration. “We had 654 miles of barrier, wall, fence, whatever you want to call it before President Trump came in. We’ve been building in the four administrations that I’ve worked under… It’s not new and we’ve known it’s worked…”

A wall along the U.S.’s souther border is a promise President Trump has made several times, one he still stands by. But what is the current status of the wall? Linda Hernandez is joined by Anna Giaritelli to discuss the rest of her trip to the border and what she has seen of the wall project.
