Democrats can be expected to highlight Ivanka Trump’s use of private emails for government work as an example of the Trump administration’s hypocrisy, former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci predicted Tuesday.
The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Ivanka Trump used private emails for government work. Scaramucci agreed this will make the Trump administration look “hypocritical” because President Trump pounded Hillary Clinton on her use of a private email server when she was in the Obama administration.
“I think it’ll be a great campaign talking point for Democrats to bring up the fact that she did do it,” Scaramucci said.

“Well, certainly, I think it’s hypocritical,” he added. “I think even Ivanka, if she was interviewed about it, she’d have to say that it was a mistake. You can’t do that in that position.”
Trump’s campaign crowds chanted “lock her up” whenever Trump mentioned Clinton’s private email server. The White House has stressed that Ivanka Trump didn’t set up a private server, and only used private email, but Scaramucci indicated the similarities are close enough to cause problems for Trump.
“There’s irony, hypocrisy, and I think this is one of the main reasons why the American people are so fed up with Washington,” he said.
