Mt. Hebron?s Michael Duffy and Howard?s Vince Parnell will move to Howard and Wilde Lake, respectively, in some of the biggest shakeups.

Mike Senisi (Atholton), Gene Brown (Marriotts? Ridge), Jeannie Prevosto (Mt. Hebron), Chuck Struhar (Oakland Mills) and Rick Lloyd (River Hill) make up the remaining new hires.
“I am excited to start the new position,” said Senisi about his position at Atholton. Senisi had coached girls soccer for 12 years at Centennial, winning two consecutive county titles. He resigned as the head coach in March and said that he “fulfilled all of his needs as a coach” and is looking forward to his next challenge as an administrator.
Howard County will become the first county in the state to make the Athletic Director, renamed Athletic Activities Manager, position a full-time administrator.
Howard County Coordinator of Athletics Michael Williams said that there were more than 30 applicants for the jobs, which arenow 11-month positions.
“It is a promotion and a pay raise,” Williams said. He added that the managers are not permitted to teach or coach past this fall season.
Williams said that the last stipulation might have caused some athletic directors not to apply because they wanted to continue coaching.
“It is a disadvantage in a sense, because it deters some people from applying,” Williams said. “It has taken some of the administrative duties off the plate of assistant principals, especially with security and building schedule.”
Lloyd welcomed the challenge.
“I think the addition of scheduling and facility use is an added responsibility and it helps to do the job full-time,” Lloyd, a special education teacher for 32 years, said. He has been the varsity baseball coach and defensive coordinator on River Hill?s football team since the school opened.
