The Orioles will hold spring tryouts for batboys and ball girls at noon Saturday.
“We want someone who is outgoing and personable,” said Monica Pence, public affairs director for the Baltimore Orioles. “We want people who are athletic and can handle a glove.”

People interested in trying out should come in comfortable clothing and bring their own glove, Pence said. “Candidates will be fielding ground balls to show that they have the skills required to be an Orioles ball boy or ball girl.”
Afterward, scouts will speak with candidates to determine their fit, Pence said.
“I?ve always been a Orioles fan,” said Laura Humphries, a ball girl from the 2005 season. “When I got my shot to be a part of the team, I couldn?t refuse. I was nervous during the tryouts, but it was awesome being in that environment.”
All candidates must be at least 18 years old to try out. The stadium offers free parking in Lot A, and those interested should use the Home Plate Plaza entrance.
“It was cool to see the other side of it,” Humphries said of her experience. “I would absolutely do it again.”
