The YouTube account Some Black Guy posted a video on March 31, that has now gone viral, in which he told members of the #BlackLivesMatter movement and white Social Justice Warriors to stop speaking for minorities, and claimed “cultural appropriation is bullshit.”
Some Black Guy was inspired by the viral video last month, which showed two black students who confronted a white guy for wearing dreadlocks.
“For those of you who don’t know what cultural appropriation is, it’s this horseshit that usually pertains to black people,” Some Black Guy said in the video. “Nobody else is talking about it, just a lot of #BlackLivesMatter type of people.”
Social Justice Warriors whine that white people are trying to steal minorities’ culture, music, and style; an accusation that Some Black Guy said was total nonsense.
“I’m into history a lot and there’s a bunch of other cultures, even white cultures like Vikings and stuff, there’s a lot of people that have dread their hairs,” he continued. “Dreads were natural for a lot of people back in the day because it would just lock up, it wasn’t just a black thing.”
He went onto say that social media websites like Tumblr have helped Social Justice Warriors spread the message of political correctness and false oppression. He referenced another video on Tumblr in which a black Jamaican woman yelled at a white Jamaican man for having an accent, even though he was born on the island.
“It’s f*cking ignorance at its finest but this is another example of how stupid this shit is,” Some Black Guy said.
