Solar energy firm wants to shine in state

SunEdison, a solar energy service provider, will consolidate its legislative, executive and research and development functions into an office headquarters in Beltsville.

Formerly, SunEdison was headquartered in Baltimore, and had several lead offices located on the West Coast in California.

“SunEdison is encouraged by pending legislation in the Maryland state General Assembly that will establish Maryland as a national leader in solar energy and provide incentives for solar deployment in our home state,” SunEdison chief executive officer Jigar Shah said in a statement.
