The Oxon Hill man charged in the shooting death of an Alexandria activist is being held without bond, court records show. Linwood Johnson, 49, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Lenwood “Lenny” Harris.Johnson’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 28. Harris, 53, was reported missing by his wife on Sept. 22. On Thursday, police found Harris’ remains in a well in Prince George’s County. The autopsy revealed that Harris died from a gunshot wound. When Prince George’s detectives interviewed Johnson, he confessed to his “involvement in the murder,” court documents said. Prince George’s police have said that more arrests are expected in the case. A court document showed Johnson has a criminal record that includes a 25-year prison sentence for a bank robbery in Maryland and a 25-year sentence for a Pennsylvania robbery, both from the 1980s. — Naomi Jagoda
