President Joe Biden’s unwillingness to stabilize the border has become a major national security risk. Yet, in addition to the possible violent criminals and suspected terrorists illegally entering the country, a record amount of drugs has been seized at the border within the last two years. Two narcotics in particular, marijuana and fentanyl, are causing significant harm to communities all around the country.
This is one of the biggest problems when Biden, Vice President and Border Czar Kamala Harris, and the rest of the Democrats deny there is a border crisis. Additionally, their politically motivated disinformation and manipulation put the public in danger. By refusing to acknowledge this reality, Biden and his fellow Democrats neglect the appropriate resources needed to help prevent these narcotics from entering the country.
Marijuana is the most frequently smuggled drug across the border, and fentanyl is the deadliest. Lax border security and the Biden administration’s impotence have empowered Mexican cartels to smuggle these narcotics into the country at an alarming rate. Each year, the amount of drugs smuggled increases. It has evolved into a highly profitable industry, with hundreds of thousands of pounds of narcotics smuggled in annually.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported that in 2021, nearly 320,000 pounds of marijuana was seized. Currently, the most recent data available show that 120,000 pounds of the drug has so far been seized in 2022. Fentanyl seizures, on the other hand, are clearly on the way up. CBP seized slightly more than 11,000 pounds of fentanyl last year. But in 2022, fentanyl seizures have soared — slightly over 10,600 pounds of the drug has already been seized.

“Border Patrol agents are too busy dealing with the influx of migrants, and are not really focused on looking for fentanyl,” former Deputy Chief of the El Paso Police Department Robert Almonte told the New York Post. “Border agents are not getting the support they need from the federal government to stop the flow of fentanyl, which is killing thousands of Americans.”
The Wall Street Journal reported that over 108,000 people died from a drug overdose in the last year. It’s an issue that needs immediate attention from Biden — except he doesn’t care. His inaction contributes to thousands of people’s deaths.
