Donald Trump, who’s been intensely critical of President Obama in the wake of the deadly attacks in Paris, France, now says Obama “is a threat” to the homeland.
“I think he’s a threat to our country,” the Republican presidential hopeful said Wednesday evening on Boston’s WRKO radio ahead of his campaign rally in Worcester, Mass.
“I mean [Obama] must have some kind of a thing going because, you know, when you see that he won’t even call them by their name, attack after attack after attack,” Trump added, referring to the president’s refusal to use the terms “radical Islam” or “Islamic extremism.”
“It’s radical Islamic terrorism and he won’t even acknowledge it … it’s like he thinks they’re coming from Sweden or something.”
Trump criticized Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton for the same reason.
“She doesn’t have the strength, she doesn’t have the stamina,” he added. “Hillary does not have the strength or the stamina to be president, and she doesn’t have the ideas.”
The outspoken billionaire also hit Obama for his acceptance of refugees from Iraq and Syria. Obama vowed Wednesday to veto a bill drafted by House Republicans that calls for a pause in the country’s intake of refugees from the war-torn countries until additional screening measures are implemented and national security agencies confirm the refugees don’t pose a threat to the U.S.
“For Obama to be approving this is a disgrace,” Trump said of Obama’s refugee plan.
“We shouldn’t allow it to happen. They’re not even screened by us to the full extent … you have all of these people coming in – we have no papers, they don’t have any documentation. We have no idea who these people are and you could have ISIS infiltrate us,” he added.
“We have an incompetent president, he’s just grossly incompetent,” he added.
Trump is fourth in the Washington Examiner’s presidential power rankings. He is expected to arrive in Iowa Thursday evening for a town hall forum in the earliest voting state.
