Giuliani says he’ll be discharged from hospital Wednesday following COVID-19 diagnosis

Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s personal lawyer who contracted COVID-19, announced that he’ll be released from the hospital on Wednesday.

“I feel just about 100% right now. I’m going to be discharged this afternoon. I’m pretty much 100%,” the former New York City mayor said on 77 WABC New York Wednesday morning.

Giuliani will still have to quarantine for a couple more days, given doctors believe he contracted the virus about a week ago, he said.

“I’ve got to quarantine for a few more days because the way they calculate it, I probably got it about 7-8 days ago,” Giuliani, 76, explained. “So I’ve got 3-4 more days to make sure it’s out of my system. But right now, I’m functionally fine. I have no pains, no fever. I walk around fine. My breath is good. I have a teeny cough that’s going away. I feel better than when I came in.”

Trump announced his lawyer’s diagnosis over the weekend.

Both Giuliani and fellow Trump campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis, who was more recently diagnosed with COVID-19, had been traveling across the country to state legislature hearings on election integrity, claiming that there was widespread fraud that resulted in President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. Two state legislatures canceled sessions out of an abundance of caution after Giuliani tested positive.
