All clear after evacuation ordered at Trump Tower

An evacuation was ordered at Trump Tower — where President-elect Donald Trump lives and works in New York — on Tuesday due to a suspicious package, a New York City Police Department media relations officer told the Washington Examiner.

J. Peter Donald, the assistant commissioner for communication & public information at the NYPD, later tweeted: “All clear at Trump Tower following the earlier suspicious package in the lobby.” He said a bomb squad responded to the scene out of an “abundance of caution.”

Trump is not at Trump Tower. He is in Florida at the Mar-a-Lago resort.

Video posted to social media shows people in the lobby running out of the building.

Law enforcement said the suspicious package was deemed to be a bag of toys.
