A woman has been found dead inside the trash compactor of her upmarket Manhattan apartment building, the same property where former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin and disgraced ex-congressman Anthony Weiner had shared a home, according to a report.
Police officers and paramedics told the New York Post they responded to a call at the Union Square complex on Tuesday afternoon and “discovered a 48-year-old female unconscious and unresponsive inside a trash compactor.”
The Post reported in May 2017 that Abedin, 41, renewed the couple’s lease of their duplex in the building for another year. It was unclear at the time, however, whether Weiner, 53, would live with her before he was sentenced in September to jail time for sexting with a 15-year-old girl.
The property had been listed on May 19, 2017, the same day Weiner pleaded to one count of transferring obscene material to a minor, but it was quickly taken down, per the Post. Abedin filed for divorce from Weiner a day later.
