Stephen Colbert crashes RNC stage, security chases him out [VIDEO]

The Republican National Convention is expected to draw protesters and opponents, but Late Show host Stephen Colbert got a head-start on Sunday by taking the stage to reprise his “Hungry for Power Games” role.

Colbert described how Trump “has formed an alliance with Indiana governor Mike Pence.” He went to bang a gavel “to hereby launch and begin the 2016 Republican National Hungry for Power Games!”

The video then shows Colbert being led away by security. “Look, look I know I’m not supposed to be up here, but let’s be honest, neither is Donald Trump,” Colbert says as he leaves.

Many would agree.

Efforts from the #NeverTrump movement sought to #StopTrump from officially receiving the nomination by unbinding delegates, despite the presumptive nominee winning his delegates during the primary process. This effort failed days before the convention began.

Protesters with more serious goals in mind will also show up. A part of the street has been set aside for 30-minute speeches for those groups and individuals.

Viewers can expect more from Colbert. He will be joined by Jon Stewart for coverage of the Republican and Democratic National Conventions.
