‘Don’t BS a BS-er’: Conway battles ‘The View’ over Trump

Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway on Thursday battled the hosts of “The View,” one of whom warned her not to “B.S. a B.S.-er” after Conway said Trump didn’t have time to visit New York.

Host Whoopi Goldberg said she was glad to have Conway on the show, but said she would rather have had Trump on. “It would have been nice if he had shown up because I noticed he goes to all the shows where the guys are,” she said.

Conway said that Trump wasn’t in New York for the day, given he is campaigning in New Hampshire, to which the host responded, “Kellyanne, honey, I’m a New Yorker. Don’t B.S. a B.S.-er.”

Goldberg complained that Trump isn’t specific enough when he delivers campaign speeches.

“I have heard him say nothing on policy, Kellyanne, and you know he has been very vague,” Goldberg said. “He says nothing. He says ‘we’re going to make America great again,’ and he doesn’t tell you how.”

She was also questioned about the recent chatter about Alicia Machado, a former Miss Universe winner who Trump referred to in the past as “Miss Piggy” after she gained weight. Conway ignored the question about her weight gain, and said Trump should get credit for giving her a second chance after others wanted to terminate her contract.

“I don’t discuss people’s weights and their looks. I’m sure that on your Twitter feed right now, you have viewers discussing my looks and my intelligence,” Conway said. “The company involved wanted her terminated … because she was in breach of contract, and the company wanted her terminated. He gave her a second chance.”

Conway discussed how she was raised by a single mom and how that has led her to support Trump, which was met with great skepticism by the hosts.

“I was raised by a single mom who took her high school degree and went and supported us. That’s how I got through Catholic school. It’s how I got through college and law school. She made sacrifices,” Conway said. “In fact, I was raised in a household that looks like this. I was raised by my mother, her mother and two of my mother’s unmarried sisters.”

“And that’s why we’re all in such shock that you’re supporting him,” Goldberg shot back.

“No. That’s why I am,” Conway said in response.
