Republican front-runner Donald Trump announced Saturday night that he now thinks the Carolina Panthers would win Sunday’s Super Bowl, even though he said just a few days ago that he thought the Denver Broncos would win.
After former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush picked the Broncos and noted Manning supported his candidacy, Trump answered during the GOP debate in New Hampshire that he thought the Carolina Panthers would win. Trump did not offer a reason for his change, and told CBS just days earlier that he liked the Broncos and presumed Peyton Manning’s team would win.
Trump’s first choice to win it all, the New England Patriots, lost to the Broncos in the AFC championship game.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said they think the Panthers would win, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie picked the Broncos.
Ben Carson drew laughs by saying either Denver or Carolina would win.
