A man has been arrested in the 2007 rape of a hotel worker in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County police said.
Police said a recent DNA match led authorities to 28-year-old Darren L. Marshall, of Upper Marlboro, in the December 22, 2007, attack. A housekeeper entered a room at the Holiday Inn located at 2 Montgomery Village Ave. at about 9:45 a.m. that day to clean. She was assaulted and raped inside the room, police said, and the attacker then fled the hotel.
Police said Marshall was taken into custody Monday and faces charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sex offense, first-degree assault and third-degree sex offense.
He was being held without bond Monday.
