TE Fred Davis He’s an unrestricted free agent who is one positive drug test from a year-long suspension. But the Redskins truly like him and could use the franchise tag on him. He was the only consistent threat to make a play after the catch this season because of his athleticism, and the scheme got him open.

RT Jammal Brown
He suffered through another injury-filled season. Brown’s hip and groin clearly have caused him to struggle at times clearing cutback lanes. Yes, he needs a good offseason, but he turns 31 in March and hasn’t stayed healthy. What else is there to know?
C Will Montgomery
He’s another free agent who was merely OK this season. However, the Redskins don’t view him as being much different than other centers in the NFC East. They also know he could always serve as a backup guard/center with Kory Lichtensteiger moving to center.
WR Santana Moss
He was unproductive all season and especially after returning from his broken hand. Moss did not threaten teams after the catch. The Redskins are high on Leonard Hankerson, who can play the slot. And they’re well aware that Moss caught just 46 of the 95 passes thrown his way.
QB Rex Grossman
There’s little doubt the Redskins think Grossman could play better with a stronger supporting cast, including a playmaking receiver. They’re probably right. But Grossman has 79 turnovers in 54 career games. Those don’t all stem from poor talent around him. Mobility is an issue, too.
