Toddler, baby sitter found safe in D.C.

The 7-month-old boy and 16-year-old baby sitter who had been missing from Baltimore since Friday were found in the District early Monday.

D.C. police spokesman Officer Anthony Clay said police received a call around 6 a.m. from someone who said they saw a woman and baby who matched the description of teenager Jonae Boozer and baby Ki’Yauhn Birch. The two were seen at a bus stop in the 4400 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue NE.

Police showed up and took custody of the child and detained Boozer. Baltimore police said they were interviewing the baby sitter and the child had been taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure. No charges have been filed.

Police said Ki’Yauhn went missing after his father left him with Boozer.
