VIDEO — Weekly Examiner: Mitt Romney makes a decision

Former Massachusetts governor and two-time presidential hopeful Mitt Romney announced on Friday after much speculation that he will not be running for president for a third time. On a conference call with donors Friday morning Romney said, “After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in our party the opportunity to become our next nominee.”

President Obama started this week overseas in India where he met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, gave talks to the people of India, and attended India’s Republic Day parade. After India, Obama traveled to Saudi Arabia to pay his respects to the late King Abdullah.

Attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch sat through two days of confirmation hearings with the Senate Judiciary Committee this week. The committee grilled Lynch about how she would perform in her new job.

The Senate on Thursday voted 62 to 36 to authorize the Keystone XL pipeline. The bill now heads to the House of Representatives, but even if it makes it through the House, Obama has vowed to veto this bill.
