During the CNBC debate Wednesday, the first question launched at Donald Trump asked if his success is only based on being a comical version of a real candidate.

Trump was insulted and hit back.

“It’s not a comic book, Larry Kudlow is an example of someone who loves my tax plan,” Trump said.

Kudlow is a CNBC contributor and former host on the network.

Trump discussed his plan to bring in the $2.5 trillion that corporations are not paying in taxes, build a wall, defend the border, and reform legal immigration.

“[Mexico’s] leaders are sharper and smarter than us. We have a $50 billion trade deficit,” he continued.

When asked again whether he is serious, Trump said, “ask your coworker, Larry Kudlow,” who praised his plan.
